If you are experiencing an emergency or having thoughts of self-harm or suicide,
please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.
With good reason, we pride ourselves on our neighborhood of communities.
Despite our best efforts and best practices sometimes heart-rending things happen in our neighborhood that go beyond the scope and reach of our abilities and place as game directors or entertainment companies to respond to. In the same way that we would refer you to the Emergency Room if you broke your leg, we would like to refer you to the proper professionals when other forms of crisis strike.
Jamie has a Master's degree in both Psychology and Clinical Mental Health Counseling, specializing in Crisis & Trauma management, and is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in Kentucky.
In addition to providing individual and family therapeutic services, Jamie also provides on-call crisis management/intervention services, supporting not only Benchmark foster parents but also the foster children in times of crisis. Also, Jamie runs Project: Ascension, a group therapeutic program designed to help develop social skills in participating foster children through the use of table-top and live action role-playing games. Recently, Jamie presented on this topic at the Role Play & Simulation Education Conference held at Texas A&M in Austin, Texas. Finally, Jamie provides Benchmark foster parents with training on a variety of topics and coordinates the foster parent support group, providing an outlet for foster parents, resulting in more stable placements.
Jamie is committed to ensuring that the DR membership have the resources necessary to get the most out of their DR experiences. He is here to provide direct emotional support if you are in a crisis, help you find professional services in your area, and if desired, serve as a liaison to the Directors.
Jaime can be reached at the following dedicated line 7 days a week, between 10am and 10pm CST. If he misses your call, you will receive a return call within 4 hours or the next day:

Additionally, we have compiled a list of online and phone-based resources for crisis support. It is our hope that no one ever needs this information, but it is better to provide the network of support and not need it than to not have it and have it needed.
This is not intended to be a complete list of available resources and we do not officially endorse or support any of these services. These groups are unaffiliated with Dystopia Rising LLC and all of it's partners, affiliates and members. Our sole goal with this list is to provide a simplified resource for outside sources.
If you would like to see a group or resource included, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
